About me
Maya is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida studying psychology and pursuing a certificate in visual arts in medicine. She currently volunteers with patients bedside at UF Health Shand’s Hospital in making art to support well-being, and has served as the youngest artist in Twist Out Cancer’s Brushes with Cancer Winter 2026 program. Her passion for intersecting the arts in health stems from practicing ceramics and studying to work in medicine. Maya has been a lab member at the University of Florida's Center for Arts in Medicine Interdisciplinary Research lab for two years, and has been working with the Creative Forces team to understand the relationships between art response post disaster.
