About me
Jill Celaya is a lifelong resident of Mayfield, KY, bringing over 45 years of experience as a small business owner and a deep-rooted commitment to her community. Following the devastating December 2021 tornado, Jill was asked to chair Mayfield Rebuilds, a community-based visioning group tasked with listening to citizens' hopes and dreams and developing actionable plans to rebuild the city. Her dedication to the recovery effort led to her employment by FEMA as a local hire in community assistance, where she was instrumental in translating community input into strategic development plans.With a passion for community revitalization and resilience, Jill has previously served on the board of directors for Mayfield Mainstreet, the Mayfield-Graves County Chamber of Commerce, and the Mayfield Electric and Water System. She also initiated a project to build the local animal shelter. Currently, Jill serves as the executive director for the Mayfield Downtown Farmers Market, continuing her work to foster a vibrant, sustainable, and connected community. She brings invaluable insight into long-term disaster recovery, community engagement, and strategic planning to this panel discussion.
